ROME – Presented this morning in Rome at the headquarters of the Corriere dello Sport-Stadio, the Acea Run4Rome relay and the Stracittadina Fun Race, two sides of the same coin, the Acea Run Rome The Marathon, when the race is for everyone, adults and children, athletes and newcomers. Doing good, for yourself but also for others thanks to the Charity Program. Two events that are two fundamental pillars and cornerstones of the Acea Run Rome The Marathon, which is opens to all citizens of Rome, even to those who are unfamiliar with the race. Just be there, walking or running, it doesn’t matter.
The marathon is a series of interlinked events that start as early as Friday 27th with the opening of the Expo and then already, shoes on and a big party on Saturday 28th with the 4.5km Fun Race. On Sunday morning, as well as the marathon at the same time, the great news of this 26th edition: the Acea Run4Rome relay, for which registration has been open since December and which has its core and beating heart in the Charity project. A great beating heart, made of solidarity and charity thanks to the membership and commitment of the six onlus (non-profit) members: Airc, Dynamo Camp, Rotary International District 2080, Sport Senza Frontiere, Operation Smile Italia Onlus and Bambino Gesù Onlus Foundation.
We also thank Rete del Dono, which supports charities in improving, optimising and increasing their fundraising.
Present as a guest and testimonial of Sport Senza Frontiere Onlus, the charismatic paralympic athlete Gianni Sasso who gave those in attendance a very touching moment when he told his life story and also some funny moments talking of his sporting exploits with the many marathon races in the world. Gianni Sasso will be at the starting point of the Acea Run Rome The Marathon on 29 March 2020.
FOR ALL – everyone can be the protagonist in the most beautiful city in the world with the relay race, even those who have never run a race, even those who believe they can’t make it but have always dreamed of one day crossing the finish line of a great international marathon.
With the Acea Run4Rome, now the dream of many can become a reality, you just need to form a team of 4, maybe with your girlfriend or husband, or with colleagues and challenge other teams from the same company, or even friends from the gym or football. You can of course involve brothers, sisters, cousins: Acea Run4Rome can be both a business and a family challenge.
DISTANCES – With a relay race, fun is guaranteed and excitement is multiplied by 4 as you all win together. Everything is very simple, the challenge is timed but there are no constraints of competitive medical certificates and federal membership, each member of the team will run for about 10 km. Or even just for 7km. In fact, the shortest fraction measures only 7km. The words ‘impossible to make it’ can easily turn into ‘Yes, let’s do this!”
The challenge is also possible for those who have never before worn a pair of running shoes; you can run or even just walk but the goal is there and the city of Rome, with its unchanged thousand-year-old charm will do the rest: reaching the finish line at Fori Imperiali in front of the Colosseum will be one of the greatest emotions ever. For hundreds of people it will be a way to get into running, to discover a world perhaps until now unknown, which will lead them to physical well-being, to finding new friends, to enjoying a few hours of freedom, (superb anti-stress tool), a couple of times a week with their running shoes on.
At each change point, there will also be partying with music and entertainment from the stage thanks to Radio 105.

REGISTRATION – Energy, smiles and generosity, these are the essential elements to participate in the Acea Run4Rome relay race, which is based on solidarity. Registration will only be possible through the non-profit organisations that have joined the charity project. The registration fee is freely determined by each Charity: it is not a simple registration fee, in fact, but a real donation to one of the many charitable projects that you can choose to support. To register means to do good, for others and also for yourself.
Hurry though because the number is limited to only 1000 teams for the 2020 edition.
