During the days of the marathon, all participants and their families can make the most of different ways to experience and explore Rome, the world’s top city for tourists

ROME – Rome, marathon, of course. 26.2 miles to run, either alone or in a team of four people for the Acea Run4Roma solidarity relay. And then there’s Rome itself: to explore, experience and enjoy with your family or friends in the days before and after the competition on 19 September 2021.

To guarantee the best possible experience, the organisers of Acea Run Rome The Marathon have come up with a range of options to suit all tastes. Unmissable experiences to be combined with the classic race day so that your trip to the Eternal City combines the best of the sport tourism that has become so popular in recent years – a great excuse for lots of people to run marathons around the world.

Parco Archeologico del Colosseo: Marathon, relay and Fun Race participants will be able to take advantage of a promotional ticket price (R.A.P. The ticket, valid for 24 hours, grants you entrance to the Colosseum and the permanent exhibition “The Colosseum tells its story” (but without the arena floor and the undergrounds) as well as entrance to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, 40 hectares of land that form the heart of ancient Rome.

Appia Antica Regional Park / Appia Antica Archaeological Park: A special card will give athletes registered in the marathon, the relay and the Fun Race free entry to all of the sites and archaeological areas in the park between 17 and 26 September 2021. The park will also be home to a mapped route of the highly popular Fun Race.

Archeorunning: This incredibly successful project was created by Isabella Calidonna to entice more people to practise sports and at the same time get to know different parts of Rome. In the days before and after the race, participants and their families will be able to experience the city with a little gentle exercise in the form of running or walking tours.
