COMIP
COMIP – CHILDREN OF MENTALLY ILL PARENTS is the first Italian association created by and for children who have one or both parents suffering from a mental illness such as major depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
We raise awareness and give voice to the many children, adolescents and young adult caregivers who are experiencing this in their lives to create a better future for their families and for the next generations.
Our goal is to eliminate the taboo and the stigma around mental health and promote support and prevention.
We created two books available in Italian: “When Mum or Dad Are Unwell” and “A Hidden Pain”.
Every year we offer schools the screening of a movie whose main charachter is a “young carer”.
