A one-of-a-kind course
Start from the Fori Imperiali, with the Colosseo behind you; your first steps lead to Piazza Venezia, before your gaze rests on the Palatino and the Circo Massimo.
The route will amaze you with the imposing Basilica di San Paolo and Piramide Cestia; you’ll feel the breeze along the Lungotevere, taking in views of the Isola Tiberina, before heading toward Castel Sant’Angelo and the emotional Via della Conciliazione leading to the majestic Basilica di San Pietro. Continue north into the Foro Italico, cross Ponte Milvio, pass the modern Auditorium Parco della Musica; another stretch along the Lungotevere brings you to Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, and Piazza Navona.
In the final 2 km, you’ll face the Vittoriano again, then pass the iconic Bocca della Verità before your triumphant finish inside the Circo Massimo!
Heart, mind, and legs—you’re here, and so is Rome! The national anthem, legionaries at your side: you chose to be here. Breathe. Live, run, walk, cry with joy. The medal is yours.
Fitwalking
You can conquer Rome and Acea Run Rome The Marathon by walking, too.
All fitwalking enthusiasts are welcome and will be guided by dedicated pacers, who will accompany them throughout the course at suitable paces—from a relatively relaxed 6:30 finish to a brisk 5:45. Speed and finish time don’t matter; the journey does. Walking lets you experience the Città Eterna even more intensely, savouring the challenge of a marathon to the fullest.
Fitwalkers can also take part in the Acea Run4Rome Relay or the Acea Water Fun Run – Saturday 5K, either in “Fitwalkers-only” teams or mixed “Runners-Fitwalkers” teams.
